2019 Summer Captain's Choice League

  • June 2nd through August 31st

  • Each week starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday

  • $24 entry fee for each team, which goes into the prize money pot

  • Three people per team with an optional alternate player if you choose

  • Rounds can be played on any day of the week that the team can play together as long as the office is notified prior to teeing off that you are playing your round for the week

  • Scorecard must be turned in at the end of your round

  • League scores and standings will be posted by Monday on our Leagues page on our website as well as in our clubhouse each week

  • First eleven weeks are regular season and will allow each team to learn the ins and outs of the course and have your scores compared against another teams score to determine the winner of your weekly game

  • At the end of the regular season, all of the teams will be separated into divisions and compete in a two-week playoff with the finals being the second week

  • Division champions will split the prize money pot

  • Each team is guaranteed twelve weeks of play

  • Once your team is signed up for the league then all rounds played, whether they are weekly rounds or even practice rounds, only cost $8 for each team member

  • Each team member’s tee shot must be taken at least once per round

  • We know that weather will have an effect on when teams can play and the conditions of the course and will work with teams as best we can if anyone gets behind but there may be times where we may have to designate a Did Not Play (DNP) if a team gets too far behind

  • All team registrations are nonrefundable and nontransferable

6th Annual Archie Goode Memorial Tournament

Our yearly tournament to honor Roanoke Valley Golf Hall of Fame Member and original Manager of Brookside Par 3, Archie Goode. Archie managed the course from the day it opened in 1962 until he retired in 1987. He is best known for his love of the game and for teaching young golfers how to play the game “the right way.”

Proceeds from this tournament benefit The First Tee of Roanoke. Since 1997, The First Tee has grown its network to deliver programs in all 50 United States and select international locations. In 2016, The First Tee brought character education through the game of golf to more than 5.3 million young people.

Because of the generous support last year, we were able to raise over $3700 (which was $1000 more than the previous year!) helping this outstanding organization continue to serve the youth of the Roanoke Valley.

Help us honor Archie and assist The First Tee to continue its excellent work.

2019 Spring Captain's Choice League

It’s time to get back into some golf! We are going to run this league a few weeks longer than last year since we have more time to prepare and set it up!

Three people per team and one (optional) alternate.

Each week will start on Sunday and end on Saturday.

Rounds can be played any day of the week as long as three team members are playing together.

Notify clubhouse that you are playing your league round prior to teeing off and scorecard must be turned in at the end of the round.

Each team member’s tee shot must be taken at least once each week.

There will be a schedule posted in the clubhouse with nine weeks regular season games scheduled for each team.

Each team is guaranteed ten weeks of play.

At the end of the regular season all teams will be flighted for the first week of playoffs with the winners competing in the championships the following week.

Prize money will be split between the winners of the championships and the total will be determined by the amount of entry fees received from all teams.

$24 entry fee for each team is required at time of registration and is nonrefundable/nontransferable.

Each week League rounds will only be $8 as well as any other rounds played during the season by any person registered.

Club members do have to pay the entry fee but the weekly rounds are covered under their memberships.

Spring Members Only Captain's Choice Tournaments

It’s that time of year again!

Our Spring Members Only Captain’s Choice tournaments will be every Wednesday (weather permitting) from March 6th through May 29th.

Come out and play two rounds (at no additional cost) with your fellow members and get to know them!

Each week everyone will meet here at 10AM in March and 9AM in April and May.

Teams will be chosen when we know how many will be playing.

Each week some of the folks pitch in a dollar and every couple of weeks we have pizza afterwards!

The tournaments are for bragging rights a camaraderie!

Captain's Choice WINTER League

Learn, practice, and compete all at the same time!

Come out, meet up with friends, or make some new ones in our Winter Golf League!

Three people per team with one alternate (in case someone cannot make it the same day the other two can).

Each week starts on Sunday.  Rounds can be played any day of the week as long as office is notified prior to teeing off that you are playing your league round.  Scorecard must be turned in at the end of the round, and the three of you are playing together.

First FIVE weeks you will play together to learn the ins and outs of the course and compete against another teams score.  THERE WILL BE NO LEAGUE PLAY THE WEEK OF THANKSGIVING.  The final two weeks, all teams will be placed in a single elimination tournament.

There is a team registration fee (payable at time of registration) of $24, and each league round will be $8 per person.  Each team will play at least six rounds (five regular season matches and at least one playoff round).  Each player also gets practice rounds for $8 per round during the season.

This is a Captain’s Choice tournament and each member’s tee shot must be taken at least once per round.

Teams can be with family, friends, or coworkers.

Register in the Clubhouse by October 27th.

2018 Fall Parent/Child Tournament ***Cancelled***

There is not much that compares to the sight of a parent and child out on the golf course, and spending time together so we would like to invite you out for a morning of family fun here at Brookside Par 3!

We will be playing 9 holes and 18 holes.  It will be Captain's Choice from the tees and then you will alternate shots until the ball is in the cup.  Each team will be recording one score on their scorecard.

You will be placed in divisions in according to the child's age or sex as follows:

  • Youth (Children ages 11 and under - Will only be playing 9 holes)

  • Juniors (Children ages 12 - 18)

  • Ladies (Children 19 and up)

  • Open (Children 19 and up)

Costs will be as follows:

  • Youth $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers

  • Juniors $10 for members and $20 for nonmembers

  • Ladies and Open $15 for members and $30 for nonmembers

Check in will be at 8:00am and the shotgun start will be at 9:00am.

Make sure to stay for the pizza party on the patio afterwards!

There is a team registration fee (payable at time of registration) of $24, and each league round will be $8 per person.  Each team will play at least seven rounds (six regular season matches and at least one playoff round).  Each player also gets practice rounds for $8 per round during the season.

This is a Captain’s Choice tournament and each member’s tee shot must be taken at least once per round.

Team registrations are nontransferable and nonrefundable.

All Ages GLOW BALL Tournament!

All Ages GLOW BALL Tournament!

$30 for nonmembers and $15 for members

One glow ball per person provided ($9 value), you can also bring your own if you already have one, and additional balls will be available for purchase

Two person teams in a stroke play format for 18 holes

Trophies will be given for individual (Open, Women's, and Junior Divisions) and overall team winners.

Check in begins at 6:00pm.  We will have a shotgun start at 7:00 for the first nine holes, then have a break and Martin's Downtown will be providing some food on the patio while we will set up the course for the second nine holes that will be played with GLOW BALLS and IN THE DARK and tee off around 9:00pm!

5th Annual Archie Goode Memorial Tournament
