2024 Spring League

Week 7 started off a little cool but with little rain in the forecast it should make for some great golf weather. We are well into the second half of the Spring League so please try to not fall behind. You are allowed to play two rounds in one day so please do that so you don’t fall farther behind because you never know when Mother Nature will decide to bless the course with a little rain shower or two. The course is getting greener every day so be sure to take advantage of the beautiful weather and come out and play a round or two.

And as always, please help us keep our greens in good shape and repair all ball marks. Good Luck and Hit’em well!

Please practice the following rules of Captain’s Choice to ensure a fair competition:

  • A team must complete the registration form with all names and pay the registration fee before they can play a league round.

  • Teams must complete all regular season rounds by the ending date of the regular season to be eligible for the playoffs.

  • 3-Player Teams with one alternate

  • Team Registration is $9 per player, $27 total.  Registration fees are non-refundable and are used for prizes at season’s end.

  • League rounds for members are included with their memberships.  Non-members pay $9 per league round.  As a bonus, non-members pay $9 anytime they play during the league season.

  • The format is Captain’s Choice.  Each player’s tee shot must be used once during each league round. FlingGolf teams must use their fling sticks for the entire round. All players must tee off from the mats. Teams must have 3 players to post a score.

  • Teams may play no more than 2-rounds in one day.

  • Please mark the spot of the ball so each player plays from within 8-inches (roughly 2-scorecard lengths) of the same spot, no closer to the hole.  The ball may be placed to the left, to the right, or behind the spot.  A ball cannot be moved from off the green onto the green, even if the ball would be no closer to the hole.

  • Once a player holes a shot, the hole is over.  The team cannot make further attempts.

  • When playing a league round, notify the clubhouse and record your score on a scorecard.  Please note on the scorecard the round # you are submitting, the date, and your team’s name.  For example, Round #1 should be on your first scorecard.  The scorer should record a numeral in the box for each hole. Submit the signed scorecard to the clubhouse.

  • Team averages will determine seeds for playoffs at the conclusion of the 10 regular season rounds.

  • Averages will be posted in the clubhouse and on the Brookside web site.

2023-2024 Winter League

We had four teams brave enough to weather the unpredictable winter season. The Championship round was fierce! MC2 and B3 played head-to-head on the windiest day of the season. They were tied after 9 hole which forced a three-hole playoff. MC2 managed to birdie hole #2 which ended up being just enough to win! Well played gentlemen!

2023 Fall League

Our 2023 Fall League Champions are 3/4 Kockers who beat Gang Green by one stroke. Droppin Dueces held true to their name and dropped three on 2 Oldies and a Goodie to take the First Flight.

2023 Summer League

In our Championship Flight, Deamon Decons and Gang Green went head to head. The Couch Potatoes took down the Wild Wedge Wackers to claim victory in the First Flight.

2023 Spring League

The 3/4 Knockers posted a season low 22 and knocked out Gang Green to win the First Flight. The Silent Intimidators turned up the heat in the Second Flight and took down 69 Degrees.

2022-2023 Winter League

Our Winter League teams posted some fantastic scores. The Championship Flight was full of upsets with MC2 and M&Ms upsetting the number 1 and 2 seeds to make it into the finals. In the finals, MC2 took care of the competition by shooting a 20! The First Flight was a nail bitter with Freezin’ Fore a Reason taking down 69 Degrees.

2022 Fall League

Wow! Some of the playoff rounds were very impressive. In the Championship Flight, Gang Green shocked MC2 to claim the title. Droppin Dueces defeated Damn It Ball to take the First Flight. Well played.

2022 Summer League

Much fun was had by all during our Summer League. Num Nuts Inc managed to shoot low enough each round to win the Championship Flight taking down the 1st, 2nd and 4th seed on their way to the title. Well done gentlemen. Shiver me timbers! The Putt Pirates took down the Weapons of Grass Destruction in a tie breaker to win the First Flight.

2022 Spring League

The competition was fierce in the First Flight with Fiddlestix forcing Mulligans to out shoot them in an addtional three holes. 2021 Summer League Winners

We have winners!

Championship Flight - After finishing as the runner-up in the Spring League, MC2 claimed the Summer League title by outdistancing Num-Nuts, Inc. The championship match pitted the two top seeded teams, but MC2 jumped on top early and never let up, winning 21-24. Mike Campbell, Will Claytor Jr., and Tre’ Claytor are tough to beat! Well played, gentlemen!

First Flight - Damn-It-Ball played Lining Up Our 3rd Putt in the championship match, and both teams posted 25. Damn-It-Ball prevailed in a 3-hole playoff 7-9 and took the title. Congratulations to Tom Bird, Guy Gibson, Tim Beyers, and John Bryant! Well played, gentlemen!

Second Flight - Weapons of Grass Destruction and Triple Bogey play for the championship. Scores will be posted when the match is complete.

2021 Spring League Has Concluded!

We had some excellent golf in the Spring League Playoffs!

In the Championship Flight, M&M’S shot a sizzling 20 to defeat defending champion MC2, who shot a very good 22. This was the kind of match a final should be, with both teams making birdies, not backing off at all. The teams were tied at 3-under going to #6, when M&M’S went on a tear and birdied the last 4! Stephen Pinard, Marsha House, and Matt Linkenauger established themselves as a force going forward, but rest assured MC2 will be right back in the mix in the Summer League! Congratulation M&M’S!

Couch Potatoes captured the First Flight with a 25-28 victory over Fiddlestix. Coming into the finals, Fiddlestix was on a role, posting consecutive 23s, but Couch Potatoes earned the win with a solid round of golf. John Urquhart, Stewart Barnes, and Bob Hubble are tough to beat. Congratulations Couch Potatoes!

In the Second Flight final, DLJ returned to the winner’s circle with an excellent 23 to defeat The Rookies, who shot a very respectable 27. Jeff Meador, Daniel Jones, David Jones, and Luke Marine seem to play well at just the right time. Congratulations, DLJ!

Many thanks to all who competed in the Spring League!
